Launched in October 2023, the ‘Dialogue Forum Private Households 2.0’ builds on the successful work of the predecessor project ‘Dialogue Forum Private Households – Reducing Food Waste’, which was carried out as part of the National Strategy to Reduce Food Waste, funded by the BMEL. The overarching aim of the ‘Private Households Dialogue Forum 2.0’ project led by Slow Food Germany is to reduce the amount of avoidable food waste in private households through the work of the dialogue forum and to promote the establishment of sustainable nutritional practices. The aim is to continue and intensify the networking of all stakeholders in private households along the food supply chain. Project evaluation centres on supporting advice for the project team during the course of the process, process evaluation and summative evaluation. The latter is aimed at monitoring the achievement of project objectives and effectiveness and deriving recommendations for action. The bidding consortium consisting of nexus and C³ team ideally combines content expertise and in-depth knowledge of the food value chain with methodological skills for the design of participatory consulting processes, conception and implementation of practical research and evaluation using qualitative and quantitative methods. Based on an evaluation concept and the catalogue of indicators developed together with the project team, the evaluation activities will include data and media analyses, analysis of the user-friendliness of the app for measuring food waste, guideline-based expert interviews, online surveys, consultation sessions and participatory observations.
