As part of a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Health, a chatbot is being developed that can be used as an additional information and support service in the field of addiction care. The aim of the development is to enable the chatbot to answer questions from the field of addiction care as accurately and securely as possible.

Particular attention is paid to considering requirements for data protection as well as specific requirements from both experts in the field and those affected.

To ensure a participatory approach to the development and testing of the bot, nexus brings its experience and expertise from past and ongoing projects in participative technology development, AI and ethics into play. Nexus leads this through a series of Design Thinking Workshops, where key target groups and stakeholders from addiction care are engaged participatively in the conception, development and testing of the chatbot. Through user participation, both the legitimacy and acceptance of the chatbot are increased, as well as an immediate contribution to its suitable and data-protective development is made.
