From October 2021 to July 2022, the participation procedure of the citizens’ advisory council will be tested in the district of Dachau as part of a model project. The Citizens’ Advisory Assembly on Health was initiated by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care and is to advise the Health Regionplus Dachau with recommendations on health topics. The nexus Institute was commissioned with the moderation and organisational support of the pilot project.

The establishment of a citizens’ advisory board at district level offers randomly selected citizens from the entire district the chance to actively contribute their needs, ideas and experiences to the shaping of the health regionplus. In this way, the different interests and needs of all communities can be taken into account and the voice of the citizens can be strengthened.

The Citizens’ Advisory Assembly on Health alternates between face-to-face and online meetings. It talks to experts and stakeholders and develops recommendations on key issues in the health sector. In particular, the topics of health care, e.g. with regard to the GP care situation, and nursing care will be the focus. At the launch event in October 2021 and at two further public events, politicians and other relevant stakeholders will be invited to engage with citizens and receive their recommendations.
