On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), the Board of Trustees for German Eldery Care (KDA) issues the state quality seal ‘Fair Recruitment Nursing Germany’. It recognises recruitment agencies that adhere to fair and ethical standards when recruiting and placing non-European nursing professionals. The project ‘German Competence Centre for International Professionals in Health and Nursing Professions’ (DKF), which is based at the KDA and funded by the BMG, is responsible for the further development of the underlying criteria. The evaluation is based on the ISEAL Code of Good Practice. As part of the review process, focus groups with different stakeholder groups will be planned, conducted and analysed.

On behalf of the KDA, nexus is responsible for the design, moderation and evaluation of focus groups with the four relevant stakeholders: (1) non-European nurses (Internationally Educated Nurses) who are employed in Germany (two focus groups); (2) recruitment agencies; (3) employers who recruit nurses independently; and (4) employers as clients of recruitment agencies. The focus groups will take place in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, and digitally in September. A topic-based analysis and documentation of the results will be included in the final report of the review process.
