On October 9th and 10th 2019, nexus Institute coordinated the Kick-off meeting of the Erasmus Plus Strategic Partnership Project “Digital Youth Participation Made Easy” (DIGY).

The meeting took place in Georgia, Kutaisi. 7 partners from 6 countries met to kick start the three-year project, which is funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Commission and runs from 2019-2022. DIGY aims at building-up and fostering capacities and competences in youth work with regards to the usage of digital tools for youth participation.

At the meeting, partners jump-started the implementation planning of four Intellectual Outputs. These aim to deliver three modules of open education, which will be freely accessible on the European-wide youth participation platform OPIN (link):

  • a vivid community of practitioners and an infrastructure for peer-to-peer learning and exchange (OPIN Community and Forum),
  • open and simulation-based online-learning materials including online trainings, podcasts and text-based resources,
  • and a Best Practice-section which gives a quick overview of success factors for digital youth participation.

The overall objective is to empower people working with youth in municipalities, youth organisations and educational institutions to become experts of digital youth participation.

Nexus is responsible for managing the overall project and is looking forward to an interesting task to the tackled with the partners involved.
