Wiebke Blum (M.Sc.) studied sustainable urban development and civil engineering in an interdisciplinary programme in Berlin, Istanbul and Aalborg. Her focus is on social sustainability and the inclusive development of cities. To this end, she has been researching and working at the nexus Institute since 2021 on various methods for incorporating diverse citizen perspectives. One focus of our work and a major area of interest is the establishment of citizens’ councils to democratise political (urban) planning processes.

Wiebke Blum brings further experience from previous work in construction management and as a freelancer in an urban development collective in the field of neighbourhood development.
