Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle is holding a University Climate Council as part of the joint project “KlimaPlanReal – intensified”. The aim is to involve members of different parts of the university in developing measures for a more climate-friendly and sustainable BURG. Students, teaching staff and other employees can contribute their experience and perspectives.
The University Climate Council builds on earlier councils in the “KlimaPlanReal” project and is adapted to the specific conditions at the BURG. It focuses on three topics: mobility, energy, and “Cohabitation & Collaboration”. This includes questions such as how travel to the university can become more sustainable, how energy is used on campus, and how resource-saving practices, reuse, sharing and the perspectives of other living beings can play a stronger role.
The nexus Institute supports the University Climate Council in an advisory, conceptual and facilitative role. This includes structuring the process, designing methods for the sessions, and supporting the preparation of results. Contributions from experts add further perspectives and practical knowledge. On this basis, participants develop concrete measures together.
