Wiebke Blum studied civil engineering and sustainable urban development interdisciplinary in Berlin, Istanbul and Aalborg. In her master’s thesis, she studied the perception of pedestrian friendliness in cities and developed an integrated approach to emotion measurement in a real-world laboratory by combining psychophysiological sensors and mapping methods.

Since 2021, she has been supporting the nexus Institute, especially in the areas of civil society and participatory dialogue processes.

Previously she worked in construction management and later as a freelancer for the urban research platform Tesserae – Urban Social Research co-developing neighbourhood development projects on the topic of memory culture and methods for neighbourhood exploration. In addition, parallel to her studies, she volunteered in youth work in event management and gained experience in counselling marginalised groups of people in a counselling centre.
