Dr. Barbara Wagner studied ecotrophology with a focus on nutrition economics at the Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen. After initial work experience in the food industry, she completed her doctorate at the Technical University of Munich on the topic of “Cross-border consumption in the Bavarian border region to the Czech Republic”. As a research assistant, she worked on various nutrition and consumer research topics. She was able to deepen this knowledge as a nutrition consultant and project manager for “Partnerschule Verbraucherbildung” at a consumer protection organization. She completed her traineeship and worked for the Bavarian agricultural administration as a home economics officer.

Since 2022 she supports the nexus Institute in the area of health and society.
