nexus supports the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in the further development of a digital advisory platform for participation strategies. The advisory platform “PatiCipate” aims to promote good analogue and digital citizen participation in partner countries of German development cooperation based on context-adapted participation strategies. Digital technologies in particular can support direct dialogue between citizens and states and thus strengthen political participation and democracy. However, municipalities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) often lack the capacity to identify and implement appropriate applications and tools that enable a successful participation process.

Within the framework of the project, nexus is commissioned, 1) to carry out an analysis of the content of the advisory platform and to derive recommendations for its further development, 2) contribute to the further development of a needs-based assessment tool, 3) identify appropriate methods of participation; and 4) summarise them in the form of method cards.
