Saxony-Anhalt has created a possibility for financial support for projects in the region with the guideline for the promotion of measures to shape demographic change. The aim of the guideline is to secure the quality of life in low-population and structurally weak areas of Saxony-Anhalt. The nexus Institute is evaluating the funding guideline on behalf of the state government. As a methodological component, the project team uses an activating and summative evaluation. nexus also takes up the bottom-up approach of the directive. <\/p>\n

Since 2010, around 100 projects in Saxony-Anhalt have received financial support. The demand is stronger than the available funds – the guideline is well received. Recommendations for the further development of the guideline are being developed on the basis of the evaluation. The recommendations refer to both the project and the programme level. An important background is the EU structural fund period from 2014 to 2020, which continues to promote the future of rural and structurally weak regions. <\/p>\n
