Information and communication technologies are playing an increasingly important role. Urbanisation also continues to increase. How do both trends play out when it comes to managing a modern city? Parallel to these trends, citizens’ understanding and expectations of local government are changing. What demands are placed on the administration, how are political decisions made, what services are offered and what infrastructure is available in the city of the future? Many decision-makers are currently still unsure how to implement new approaches. This is where the Piazza project comes in. It aims to support the challenges of the future with a digital platform for smart city governance marketing. The platform enables interactive exchange between all relevant groups such as citizens, authorities and service providers. It can be used by cities to map infrastructures and services and gather feedback from users. The project aims to develop customised solutions for city authorities and service providers to implement the appropriate pathway to the smart city. The pilot project is implemented in the French city of Lyon through the collaboration with “Le Tuba – Grand Lyon Living Lab”. The institution was founded as a public-private partnership at the interface of citizens, municipalities and businesses. <\/p>\n
Following the experimental phase, the platform will be offered to all European cities. The Piazza project will leverage the networks surrounding the smart city by developing guidelines for a “Digital Living Lab”. nexus will also develop the business model in the areas of provision and marketing of the platform. <\/p>\n
