nexus designed and moderated an ideas workshop for the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office in Berlin. The aim was to involve citizens in the Tempelhof district in the development of the district region profile. The districts of Berlin are required to create a district region profile for each of the 138 district regions using a uniform structure in order to enable comparability. At the same time, the spatial unity of the district region should ensure that decisions and planning are more strongly oriented towards the local situation and needs. In general, the district region profiles contain an analysis section in which the situation in the district region is described and evaluated on the basis of data. There is also a planning section, which is intended as a conceptual part. Specific goals are named here. Ongoing and planned measures as well as proposals are listed. The residents of Tempelhof were able to participate in the creation of the district region profile by means of an ideas workshop. The structure of the event was based on the planning cell method. The participants discussed their district and its development possibilities. First of all, the participants were able to name places which they considered to have a high development potential or an urgent need for development. Then they worked out corresponding development goals for these places.

Finally, the citizens developed proposals for concrete measures to achieve the goals they had developed. In addition, the participants were asked how citizens could get involved and what support they would like to see for such involvement.
