The second funding phase of the Mobility2Grid research campus is investigating the transformation of mobility and the transport system, taking into account the energy system, the development of feasible concepts for low-CO2 transport and a city with low levels of air pollution and noise. Broad acceptance is necessary for innovation diffusion, i.e. dissemination and market penetration as part of a transformation process, which in turn requires the participation of affected stakeholders.
Building on the results of the first funding phase, nexus, together with the Social Science Research Centre Berlin and the Department of Work Studies/Technology and Participation at the Technical University of Berlin, will continue to implement and research the early implementation of user and citizen participation in specific research and development issues. In addition, the role of participation for the transferability of research results into other practical contexts and under changed boundary conditions will be investigated, and thus the scalability of model projects will be tested and researched. Finally, nexus is responsible for data collection and analysis on the topics of bidirectional charging and behavioural changes of road users in the context of the current energy crisis.
The nexus Institute leads work package 6 “Participation and acceptance” and contributes to work package 7 “Internal monitoring and innovative knowledge management” and work package 8 “Knowledge transfer and recommendations for action”.
In the work package 6 “Participation and acceptance”, nexus and TU Berlin carried out a technology sal in autumn 2023.
