From applying for a new identity card to re-registering your place of residence to registering or re-registering a business – as part of the implementation of the law to improve online access to administrative services (Online Access Act, OZG), many administrative procedures will also be possible digitally in the future. The municipality of Wittenberge would like to find out more about the needs and requirements for online services from its citizens. Which online services do citizens want, and which do they don’t need? How should these be designed from the user’s point of view and how can existing services be improved? Citizens are to find answers to these questions in so-called focus groups.

On behalf of acatech (German Academy of Science and Engineering) and the Wittenberge municipal administration, the nexus Institute is conducting five focus groups in which different target groups discuss their perspectives and needs regarding digital administrative services. The results of the focus groups will be used to develop recommendations for action that will be incorporated into the future introduction and design of these online services for the town. The experiences and opinions thus inform the administration and provide orientation for the next steps in the digitisation of the Wittenberge municipal administration.
