The Free State of Thuringia needs around 200,000 new skilled workers by 2020. This is the result of a recent study commissioned by the Thuringian Ministry of Economics. Against this background, the Thuringian Agency for the Recruitment of Skilled Workers (ThAFF) conducts comprehensive marketing for Thuringia as a location for employment and education. The agency’s team specifically advertises to commuters, students, graduates and pupils in order to win them over as future skilled workers for Thuringia. The tasks of the ThAFF also include networking, offers in job exchanges, counselling interviews and presence at contact fairs. In 2012, nexus evaluated the work of the ThAFF on behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Economics. The aim was to further optimise the agency’s tasks and processes. ThAFF is an institution of the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (LEG). Its work is financed by the European Social Fund and the Thuringian Ministry of Economics.
