Ilona Wuschig was a professor of TV, journalism and public relations.
From 1981 to 1996, she held various positions at WDR in Cologne and Düsseldorf (trainee, editor, presenter, managing editor).
From 1997 to 2006, she was editor, presenter, deputy director of the MDR’s Magdeburg regional broadcasting house.
From 1984 Wuschig took on teaching assignments (University/Gesamthochschule Wuppertal, University of Cologne, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, University of Magdeburg, Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, MEU (Diploma University of Applied Sciences, Macromedia University of Applied Sciences Leipzig).
From 2002 to 2005, she was chairwoman of the Saxony-Anhalt State Press Conference.
In 2005, she completed her doctorate at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg on the topic “Claim without Reality -15 Years of Media in East Germany”.
From 2006 to September 2016, she was professor of journalism/television at Magdeburg Stendal University of Applied Sciences. (Vice Dean, Internationalization Officer, Head of Studies BA Journalism/Media Management and MA Cross Media).
From 2016 to 2020, Wuschig was study center director at MEU (DIPLOMA University).
Wuschig gives seminars, takes teaching assignments on the topics of lecturing and interviewing, theories of publicity, from idea to film, crisis communication, press relations, media psychology and presenting.
Ilona Wuschig is one of the two directors of the nexus Academy for Participatory Methods.
